TGIF and it's sunny!

Maybe Judy was the smart one of us, staying in her room all day wrapped in her comforter, but Winn and I tried to make the best of it. The small electric heater upstairs from my bedroom kept the living area basically liveable and Winn and I made the best of a miserable day. She kept the heaters downstairs on with a fire in the fireplace. We read, she worked on her pictures, I burned more for her, I sketched a bit and then last night we'd committed to taking our neighbor, Judy Mellon to a show which she'd contributed to, so we put on our warmest layers, called ourselves dressed and went. It was a lovely event arranged by Sabia, a writer from New York, who used her Fulbright to make a loving family history film which she ran all night long on her Mac with earphones. It's wonderful and she is both a writer and a filmmaker. She and her brother are off to Paris and somewhere else before they go home. What a lovely couple they make!
Winn and Judy are off shopping at the markets somewhere and then Judy and I are off to see Arles, Avignon and Nimes leaving Winn on her own for a day or two. She isn't interested in touring, her intent on this trip was to soak in the locale and experiment with her lovely/complicated new camera. Of course, Judy wants to see some sites on what she calls the "trip of a lifetime". I've seen these sites before, so I intend to have some alone time to sketch and perhaps paint a bit. I have a hard time getting into that old right brain with others around chattering.
Thanks be to God it's a better day! Yesterday was really, really awful. Catherine told me last night that it had been reported as the coldest day of the year. I'm sure the wind speed +temperature+ humidity combine for such a designation and it certainly deserved it! Josep was late arriving from Andorra and he said there was snow not far from here. We can see it on the mountain this morning! Brrrrr!
Well, enough post, maybe someone else will post later. I lost the last one, as Blogger seems to eat posts at times.
Au revoir,
Pat

Brrr...snow! Glad you have a better day. I just delivered a note Patt is taking to Larry. She's making him a book with all our notes to say we miss him. AND a litle painting to glue on a scrapbook page for Jamie for her retirement party Saturday night. Taking a break now, reading email and off to lunch.
Later...
