What the heck ?

I really did think that all of my electrical needs had been taken care of before I left home. For starters we've got two laptops; my old PC which runs on Windows 2000 and Pat's Mac. For whatever reason Pat hasn't been able to connect to the net and although I can, I'm not able to send any messages.

Fortunately I found a friend and former tenant on MSN messenger .. he's a computer whiz! He gave me some suggestions and after checking with the office, we can now send mail! We have WIFI in the house but it's very slow on my PC; probably because I'm still using Windows 2000? Or maybe because there are lots of users on later in the evening? I soon realized that during the day the response is much faster! Since we want to be out and about during the day, guess I'll just struggle with it in the evenings!

The last time I passed through Hartford airport I bought a converter that apparently can be used in a zillion countries!

We configured it, plugged in my speaker and POOF .. smoke and a nasty smell started to fill the room and we quickly unplugged everything! This is bringing back memories of January in Dubai when I blew it --- fortunately Best Buy replaced the unit! I wonder if my 9 year warranty will cover a replacement ? I'll try the 'blonde gal routine' when I return home.

And now my wireless mouse doesn't work ... we're still 3 using this laptop and we quickly learned to chase the little red ball. I much prefer a mouse! From what I understand I could have a conflict but I don't even know where to start?

Plans were to charge my iPOD on it's speaker but since the speaker has blown, the iPOD has run out of memory and the thought of listening to lovely music is now only a dream! The other chargers I have are at home -- guess I should look for another one while I'm here as my iPOD is a 30gb and this was an alternative place to store some of my photos.

By now my patience is wearing thin with my new Nikon D80 digital SLR camera .. I've yet to be able to download the photos to my laptop! All the settings seem to be according to the manual but still I've not had any luck. Awhile ago I installed the softward on a laptop running XP and it worked; somehow I think it's because I'm using Windows 2000. Pat has been a dear and has downloaded a ton of them to her laptop as she can burn a CD. I've yet to review all of them and delete those that aren't keepers.

As far as my iPAC ... it's recharging and seems to be working A-ok.

The laundry is drying on the line but by now I'm already tiring of my sparse wardrobe!

BUT ... this is the GOOD LIFE!

Hi gals! I'm SO glad you've got your blog up and running.

I did the same thing for my family when Debbie was going through her illness and treatment. It was absolutely the best way to keep everyone informed, and surely lots easier than writing individual notes or making tons of phone calls.

It's good that you're getting the tech things handled, and I'm so excited looking forward to your tales and experiences there.

Take good care of one another, and enjoy yourselves to the hilt.:))

Love, Betty...
P.S. I'm coping much better now..life is still good.

So good to hear your voice, Betty. I'm so glad life is getting less painful day by day.

We love you,

Pat
