Blagnac, Toulouse, FR
Winn thought the price of motel space here at the airport was ridiculous, so she got in cohoots with Christophe and they found a motel, 1 km from the airport that would let 3 stay for 40.80 E (Premiere Classe) . We (Judy and I) feared the result of this and agreed to repay her if we got here and it was awful and then try at the last moment to find anything else. Well, it really is okay and all the rooms in the area are booked because of the rugby tournament we're told. In any case, it is TINY and we managed to get a room on the ground floor with two very close twin beds, and one above. We can only move one at a time and with our luggage it is a very tight squeeze. We did have pictures, but they will be inserted at a later date.We did manage to turn the car in this afternoon and now will have to use cabs to get us to the airport...Winn at 4 am and Judy and I at 8 am. I can't imagine two hours at the Toulous airport, but I'm sure time will fly. I've decided that we are sleeping in a pile! But, it does have free Wifi (wee-fee) if you can believe it. The girls have walked to McDonald's to buy dinner which we will have at a picnic table outside the room as we can hardly imagine how the room would smell after our 'dinner'. I spoke with two Indians staying here who really like it and said the best restaurant is the one across the street...you guessed it. (NOTE: I found out later from the 'Girls" who went that it was not the one the men meant, but one across the street the other way which sounded to them as even better...Asian, etc).
Judy had a hard day driving here from Ste. Colombe, but Winn prefers her driving to mine. Winn can't take curves and turns and must sit in the back seat to avoid her car difficulties. So, Judy got the job. I was happy, as this is my first time as a passenger, so I know how harrowing that job is. The airport is better than it was tho' since they've finished most of the renovations. Again, I had put a small spot on it, but black marker is wonderful. Maybe they won't catch me. It is nearly inevitable with these narrow streets and the big cars required for luggage for a month. Each time I bring less, but it still amounts to a lot. There was another tight squeeze in Avignon, similar to the one in Albi last time.
All in all, it has been an adventure that none of us would have not chosen not to have. It was hard leaving this morning and knowing that change is on the way. That is such a peaceful, quiet place. Sleeping is so good and the sound of the owls and doves in the morning are so great! After all, as we've all said, it's the journey, not the destination! This has been a great journey and maybe McDonald's is appropriate as an end!
More later from someone else?

Can't wait to hear all about it later, Pat. One of these days I might even meet Judy and Winn.
Let's meet in Ste. Colombe? Great place!
