THOUGHTS FROM HERE AND THERE

October, 15, 2007

We are preparing to leave this beautiful, peaceful place. Our new friends all came Saturday evening for a wonderful time of fellowship and shared experiences. Such a diverse group from so many different places around the world. Everyone brought wonderful foods of their making but the gumbo was the hit of the party. I had to cook another pot of rice and the pot was emptied. I have left several bottles of file' here so some inspiring cooks might create a dish to compete with the local cassoulet. There were many bottles of wine drunk, firewood burned, cigars smoked late in to the night.
Guests joining us were Joseph from Andorra and the owner of Cat Art, Catherine and Christophe who manage the property, Judy(Louisiana), Pat(Louisiana), and Winn(Canada); The Girls in France, Daria, an artist from California by way of New Orleans; Jerry, an artist from Texas, by way of Shreveport, La; Phil, an artist from England; Lou an artist from France; Mercedes, artist from the United States; Nadia and Hector, artists from Spain.

Yesterday was spent in reflecting and in the evening our neighbor and her daughter joined us for a nice dinner of veal (the real thing) with trimmings. Claudia and Dahlia are were delightful new friends. So, until I put together my finals thoughts on this time au reviour....

Judy
