Maison des cerisiers
...... is the name of our old, historic, stone house --- it’s a true delight. The walls are so thick that you can cuddle up on a windowsill – some windows close tightly whilst others allow a little fresh air in.
It’s a very comfortable house with 4 bedrooms; 3 bedrooms, the bathroom and large living room are located on the main floor. A large kitchen, dining area with fireplace and the other bedroom are on the lower level. The house is one amongst a cluster of others. Since the house has been built on the side of a small hill, my thought is that the main front door was actually on the lower level … it would make sense to be welcomed into a room with a large fireplace.
The cozy bedrooms have down filled duvet covers and feather pillows … with some of us having allergies these have been exchanged. One of us bought another pillow at the Super U too.
A former artist/resident has created a pair of interesting roman blinds for the front door and living room window. They’re a rusty colour and are made out of home made paper, rope and tulle; unique for sure.
And we have broadloom on the second floor … it’s sisal! At some time or another each of us has managed to walk on it barefoot and it’s tough on the feet!
At first I thought I had an apple tree outside my bedroom window; imagine my surprise to find out it’s a quince tree and that the fruit are ripe. I’ve never seen one before; the fruit is very large, yellowish green with fuzzy skin. What I do know though is that they’re not fit for eating freshly picked.
Bonne nuit,
Winn

It's my favorite of all the houses. My room was the front upstairs. It's my opinion that the downstairs may have been the stable, but who knows? Nice to speculate, huh. The trees were wonderfully fairy white when we were there last. We were curious about the fruit.
